Luke Williams interview [The League Paper] 08:18 - May 5 with 2199 viewsQJumpingJack

Luke has done his first interview since his departure.

Some interesting claims from him and he highlights the power struggle at the top of the club.

Is it as boring as his football?

Just the usual "everyone's fault but mine" crap that we've seen from him so far and his mate previously.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

If he wasn't happy he should have walked and done us all a favour.

Between Martin and himself , a massive one much to our cost.

He fails to discuss his links to West Brom and how he handled it with the press.

Yep, everyone's fault apart himself.

Never mentioned his WBA comments, how he lost the dressing room and throwing everyone under the bus.

If we had got rid or he left earlier we would have made the play offs.

I will never forgive the charlatan for what he did to my club.

Without doubt , he'd have taken us down
Should have gone well before West Brom comments
He was what we didn't need
We needed a reboot

Agree with both points.

Luke Williams (because he made me not renew my season ticket, which was in a prime spot, halfway up The East Stand, on the halfway line 😡 )

They open the article with him saying he's happy we've "finally pulled together under Sheehan". There's no finally to it... He instantly overnight pulled the team together and got improved performances from them.

He also clearly contradicts himself when he says he thinks he was only a short term appointment but he also thinks Montague was brought in to work with him?

I appreciate this is a article to put him back in the shop window for employment but there's not one single thing in that article that is based on self reflection and learning from past mistakes. Good luck to whoever employs him next, maybe if he already has a good squad to work with he may get some short term success (like Martin with Southampton) but his style of play and his man management is very limited so he will soon get found out.

There’s always two sides ( at least ) to every story. Discounting and ignoring his comments would be foolish. He did a lot of good work here. Our performances around Christmas were exceptional but we weren’t able to maintain it and we did fall away. He did his best and worked hard but it was the right time for him to leave. It’s football. It’s a cut throat business. He will come back I’m sure.

Only an idiot would eat a turkey curry on Christmas day

Should have been sacked after that disgraceful performance away at Cardiff.

As a bloke Williams comes over as both immature and lacking self awareness.
Glad he has gone from our club.

The man also has no common sense. Remember when he was quoted in live interviews telling the press that we had agreed to sign Rushworth for another season but his club didn't have the faintest clue about it?

Rovers will work for Duff as he still lives in Cheltenham.

Say what you will about Duff, but there was none of this "woe is me" nonsense from him.
